State polls: Candidates, party leaders among early birds at polling centres

Muda’s candidate for Batu Tiga Cheda Razak (Saiyidah Izzati Nur Razak Maideen) (left) is all smiles after casting her vote at her old school SK Seksyen 18, Shah Alam, Selangor. With her is Nadirah Muda, her school friend since Year One until Form Five.

KUALA LUMPUR: Party leaders and candidates contesting in the state elections showed up early and were seen eagerly waiting to fulfil their civic duty before the polling centres opened on Saturday (Aug 12).

Some of them were already lining up with other voters as early as 7.30am while waiting for the polling centres in Selangor, Negri Sembilan, Penang, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu to open.
