Minister urges cops to act against buyers of child-like sex dolls

PETALING JAYA: The police should come down hard on sellers and buyers of child-like sex dolls sold online, says Hannah Yeoh.

The Youth and Sports Minister said the police should look into the identity of the buyers of the sex toys.

"These people definitely need counselling as it is an abnormal behaviour," said Yeoh to newsmen after an event in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday (July 2).

"The people should be commended for raising the matter and looking after the welfare of the young children.

Social media users took e-commerce platform Shopee to task for the sale of the sex dolls, which resembled children, with prices ranging from RM1,400 to RM1,500 each.

Shopee has since removed the product listings and permanently barred the account of the seller 'sexymarina'.

It also promised an investigation on the matter.
