National Day: Brass bands entertain crowd ahead of parade at Dataran Putrajaya

PUTRAJAYA: The sound of blaring trumpets and booming drums filled the air as brass bands in colourful uniforms entertained the crowd ahead of the National Day parade at Dataran Putrajaya on Monday (Aug 31).

The bands, dressed in distinctive uniforms representing their respective organisations, marched and performed along the parade route, drawing cheers and applause from spectators who had gathered early for the celebrations.

Their energetic performances, complete with synchronised movements and upbeat tunes, helped build excitement among the crowd waiting for the main parade to begin.

Spectators, including families and visitors from out of town, could be seen taking photographs and recording videos as the musicians showcased their skills.

The performances also added a lively touch to the pre-parade atmosphere, with the rhythmic beat of drums and brass instruments echoing through the venue.

The bands were among the various groups taking part in the National Day celebrations, which featured a colourful display of Malaysia's multicultural identity and patriotic spirit.

For many in the crowd, the performances offered an entertaining start to the celebrations while they waited for the marching contingents and floats to make their appearance.

Over 80,000 people are expected for this year’s celebrations, either matching or surpassing turnout in previous years.

The school holidays and the transport facilities provided by the organisers are also expected to contribute to the turnout.
