Teen killed, two injured in freak storm in Penang


GEORGE TOWN: A teenager was killed while two others were injured while travelling along the Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway due to a freak storm on early Saturday (June 10) morning.

It is believed that the teenager was with his friend in a car after an uprooted tree crushed the vehicle.

Several cars and motorcycles were damaged in the 1am incident, in which a motorist spotted a waterspout.

At the time of writing no official report has been issued by the police or the state Fire and Rescue Department.
