KUALA LUMPUR: Former Putrajaya Umno deputy head Datuk Tun Faisal Ismail Aziz says he is not interested in attending the upcoming Umno general assembly.

Tun Faisal, who was sacked from the party on Jan 27, told Sinar Harian that he would not attend any party activities under the current leadership.

The Umno general assembly will be held at the World Trade Center Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL) from June 7-10.

On Friday (June 2), Umno secretary-general Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki said the party was ready to invite former Umno members who had been sacked, but only delegates would be allowed to enter the main Merdeka Hall at WTCKL.

He also "invited" those who were fired from the party to come and reform Umno's "sidelines".
