Residents of Pangsapuri Taman Tap Teluk Intan finally get individual strata titles

IPOH: Residents of Pangsapuri Taman Tap Teluk Intan can now breathe a sigh of relief when they finally receive their individual strata titles Thursday (May 11).

Deputy Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change Minister Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii said the apartment, built and occupied since 1995, is the second scheme funded by the Strata Ownership Special Fund (TKHS) to register its strata title.

"A sum of RM207,833.20 has been approved by TKHS for the scheme and so far, the government has allocated RM1.5mil through TKHS to resolve the ownership issue of old stratified buildings known as ‘special buildings’.

"This process will be followed by the transfer of ownership from the liquidating company to the 41 legal owners, which will make it easier for them to sell the property and engage in other transactions permitted under the National Land Code and the Strata Title Act 1985,” he said.

He said this in a statement issued after a ceremony to handover the mock title for Pangsapuri Taman Tap Teluk Intan at Dewan Rumah Rehat, Teluk Intan.

On March 6, Blocks 24 and 26 of Pangsapuri Taman Batu Permai, which had been occupied since 2004, became the first scheme funded by TKHS that had successfully registered their strata ownership involving an allocation of RM86,440.

Meanwhile, Huang said the Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change Ministry was committed to continuing to assist the owners of special buildings in resolving the issue of the original owner's or developer’s failure to apply for strata title through TKHS.

"It is in line with the Malaysia Madani concept towards a developed and prosperous nation,” he said.

Huang also expressed his gratitude to the Land Surveyors Board (LJT) which has donated RM3mil to TKHS since its establishment in 2018. - Bernama
