Strong winds from South China Sea clear the air nationwide

GEORGE TOWN: A strong South China Sea wind has provided Malaysians with relief from the haze caused by forest fires and slash-and-burn agriculture in Myanmar and Laos.

According to the Asean Specialised Meteorological Centre’s (ASMC) website on the regional haze situation, strong prevailing winds have been blowing from the South China Sea since yesterday, clearing up the Air Pollutant Index (API) readings nationally.
