Family of three injured after their Sitiawan home goes up in flames


IPOH: A family of three suffered injuries after their house caught on fire at Taman Dinding in Sitiawan on Friday (March 31).

Perak Fire and Rescue Department operations commander Khairul Basri Sulaiman said they received a distress call at around 9.45am.

"When we arrived, 50% of the double-story house was on fire.

"The 28-year-old husband suffered injuries to his legs, while his 34-year-old wife and their daughter, aged four, had minor injuries.

"We managed to bring them out of the house and they were sent to the nearest hospital for immediate medical treatment," he said.

Khairul said the team was able to extinguish the fire completely and the operation finished at 1.30pm.
