Multi Lane Fast Flow POC to be conducted on Sungai Besi Expressway

PUTRAJAYA: The Proof of Concept (POC) for the Multi Lane Fast Flow (MLFF) will be implemented on the Sungai Besi Expressway using a combination of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) and Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology.

The Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) said the MLFF POC at the Sungai Besi Expressway would be implemented by the end of October at the latest.

It said the POC would involve full-scale MLFF gantries to evaluate the efficiency of the MLFF front-end gantries against the key performance index set in future highway operations.

"The combination of RFID and ANPR technology was studied and decided by the MLFF Technical Committee as well as the Value Assessment Lab and Value Engineering Lab with the involvement of various technical agencies," it said in a statement on Thursday (March 30).

On Tuesday (March 28), Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi announced that the Sungai Besi Expressway would be the first location for the implementation of the POC. - Bernama
