Khaled Nordin: Time to unite, restore people's faith in Umno


PETALING JAYA: Newly-elected Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin says that he will make sure to unite the party's members.

In a post on his official Facebook account on Monday (March 20), Khaled said that this is to show a united front for the public.

"I give thanks to all Umno members for allowing me to serve as a Vice President. It is time for all of us to come together and restore people's faith in Umno. Let's start purifying ourselves and rebuilding our party from the ground up for the good of our beloved nation," he said.

Upon the conclusion of the party polls held on Saturday (March 18), Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail and Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani were officially confirmed as the party's vice-presidents for the term 2023-2026.

On Sunday (March 19), Umno election committee chairman Tan Sri Shahrir Abdul Samad said Wan Rosdy, the Pahang Menteri Besar, garnered the highest number of votes with 126, followed by Mohamed Khaled, who is also Higher Education Minister (115 votes) and Johari (109 votes).
