Exciting ‘MAS-have’ offers at MATTA Fair

KUALA LUMPUR: Visitors to the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) Fair 2023 will get to enjoy Malaysia Airlines (MAS) offers of up to 45% off airfares to all domestic and selected international destinations.

They will also have an opportunity to win one of the 37 return tickets in the Buyers’ contest during the fair that will run from March 17 to 19 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (Mitec) in Kuala Lumpur.

MAS and its sister companies, Firefly and MASwings, will also be participating.

Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) chief executive officer of airlines Ahmad Luqman Mohd Azmi said Firefly would be offering all-in one-way fares starting from RM69 to domestic destinations and RM99 all-in one-way fares to international destinations onboard its ATR 72-500 and Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

MASwings, he said, would also be offering all-in one-way fares starting from RM131, with the exclusive offers valid from March 16 to 24 through MATTA Fair and on the airlines’ online platform for immediate travel to Nov 30 this year.

“Enrich members will also earn 50% bonus Enrich points during this period.”

Visitors to the fair, said Ahmad Luqman, would also get to take part in the three MAG airlines giveaway of 37 tickers in the Buyers’ Contest, including MAS business class return tickets to London, Sydney and Haneda in Tokyo, and economy class return tickets to Osaka, Melbourne, Perth, Seoul, Denpasar, Singapore, Kuching, Kota Kinabalu and Langkawi.

“Firefly and MASwings will also offer five and 12 return tickets to the winners’ destinations of choice within their network respectively,” he said.

Ahmad Luqman said since the reopening of Malaysia’s border in April last year, MAS had received positive response from travellers, fully recovering in its domestic capacity and 85% of its global capacity in 2022 compared to 2019.

MATTA Fair organising committee head Nigel Wong said the fair would be held on all three floors of Mitec, with 1,415 booths participating.

“MAS snapped up 28 booths in this year’s fair,” he added.

He said Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing was expected to officially launch the fair at 3pm on March 17.

Admission to the fair, from 10am to 9pm, is free.

Frequent shuttle services to Mitec will also be provided from KL Sentral and Sunway Putra Mall.
