Johor's Sultan Ibrahim mobilises three air boats to help flood victims

JOHOR BARU: Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar has mobilised three of his air boats to help flood victims in the state.

According to a statement in his official Facebook account, the high-powered air boats would be used to assist in the rescue and relocation of flood victims.

"Sultan Ibrahim has allowed his assets to be used for this purpose following the recent floods that have hit several districts in Johor.

"Today (March 4), His Majesty's air boat was used to deliver food supplies to Orang Asli settlements that were cut off by rising floodwaters," read the statement on Saturday (March 4).

It added that the air boat was piloted by Tunku Putera Johor Tunku Abu Bakar Al-Haj Ibni Sultan Ibrahim.

"Tunku Abu Bakar then delivered food supplies to the Orang Asli village in Pucur, Kahang.

"He piloted the boat for nearly 40 minutes along the Kahang River in heavy rain," it added.

The operation was also joined by officers from the Fire and Rescue Department, the Armed Forces, the police, and the Malaysian Civil Defence Force.

Also present were Johor State Islamic Affairs Committee Chairman Mohd Fared Mohd Khalid and Kahang assemblyman V. Vidyananthan.
