Cops hand over investigation papers on Cyberjaya lake murder case to DPP

SEPANG: Police have handed over investigation papers on a murder case where a body was found in a lake near Cyberjaya to the deputy public prosecutors.

Sepang deputy OCPD Supt Md Noor Aehwan Mohamad, when contacted, confirmed the matter.

"The case has been referred to the DPP," he said, adding that they were awaiting their decision.

Previously, three Indian nationals, aged 23 to 52 years old, were arrested by the police following the discovery of the body.

It is believed that the motive of the killing was a fight over a woman.

A machete that was believed to have been used during the murder was found during the arrests.

On Feb 11, the police were alerted after a body was found floating in the lake behind the Masjid Raja Haji Fisabilillah Cyberjaya.

Checks on the body showed that it had three slash wounds to the head and that the victim's left wrist was almost completely severed.
