Body of second boy who drowned while playing in monsoon drain in Ampang found


AMPANG: The body of the second boy who drowned after playing in a drain at Jalan Ukay Perdana has been recovered.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director Datuk Norazam Khamis said the body of the eight-year-old boy was recovered at about 5.10pm on Monday (Feb 13).

"The body was found amidst piles of rubbish in a drain.

"We are in the process of bringing the body out," he said when contacted on Monday.

It was reported that two boys drowned after playing in a drain in Jalan Ukay Perdana on Saturday (Feb 11).

The search and rescue operation was launched at 5.08pm on Saturday.

The first body, a 10 year old boy, was found at 6.30pm around 200 meters from the scene of the drowning.

The two boys were playing in the drain and they were believed to have slipped during the rain.
