Hussein Omar Khan to be new Selangor police chief


KUALA LUMPUR: Deputy Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan will be the next Selangor police chief.

Police secretary Deputy Comm Datuk Noorsiah Mohd Saaduddin said DCP Hussein would be promoted to the rank of Commissioner (Comm).

"DCP Hussein, who is currently the Bukit Aman CID deputy director (operations and intelligence) will take on his new role on March 13," she said in a statement on Thursday (Feb 9).

DCP Hussein was previously the Bukit Aman CID databank DNA (D13) principal assistant director and also has a bachelor's degree in biochemistry from Universiti Malaya.

He was actively involved in several international investigations including the MH17 crash in Kyiv, Ukraine, where he was the commander of the Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) for the police force.
