Details of reduction in MPs' allocations to be announced in Budget 2023

KUALA LUMPUR: Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh says that she accepts the Prime Minister's decision to slash the annual development allocations for MPs.

The Segambut MP said that she had not been briefed on what the reduction entails but she would abide by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's decision.

"We will accept it. We will wait for further information during that tabling of Budget 2023," she told reporters after attending the Hiking with Police programme on Saturday (Feb 4).

It was previously reported that annual development allocations for MPs have been slashed as the country's economy is still in recovery mode.

Anwar had said the allocations would be increased once the economy improves.
