PM offers his condolences


KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim conveyed condolences to the family of senior deputy public prosecutor Datuk Seri Gopal Sri Ram, who died at the age of 79.

Anwar also prayed that matters pertaining to Sri Ram’s family will proceed smoothly, and for the family to remain strong in their moment of grief.

“Condolences to the family of the late Datuk Seri Gopal Sri Ram on his passing. May his family’s affairs be eased and the family to remain strong and resilient in their moment of grief,” the Prime Minister wrote on his Twitter account.

The news of the former Federal Court judge’s death was confirmed by deputy public prosecutor, Mohamad Mustafa P. Kunyalam, to Bernama, and he said that the deceased died at 12.15pm at a private hospital here.

Sri Ram was admitted to the intensive care unit at the hospital last week due to a lung infection.
