PASIR PUTEH: A policeman pleaded not guilty in the Magistrate's Court here Monday (Jan 30) to two charges of disposing of evidence and conspiring to steal exhibits in a ketum case.
L-Kpl Bob Fuzainey Hazoni, 41, was charged with two others still at large, with causing the disappearance of evidence with the intention of protecting the alleged offender from legal punishment at the Cherang Ruku police station between 3am and 4am on Jan 10.
The charge, framed under Section 201 of the Penal Code, provides for imprisonment of up to seven years, or a fine, if found guilty.
Bob Fuzainey was also charged under Section 109 of the Penal Code for abetment, read together with Section 457 of the same law for trespass, with conspiring with two men still at large to steal the exhibits at the same time, date and place.
He faces imprisonment of up to 14 years or a fine, or both, if found guilty.
Magistrate Mohamad Nazri Abdul Rahim set bail at RM7,000 with one surety and fixed March 21 for mention.
