Perikatan can conquer Selangor in state polls, says PAS Youth

PETALING JAYA: Perikatan Nasional stands a strong chance of conquering Selangor in the state polls, says PAS Youth chief Fadhli Shaari.

He said this is based on a survey in the Pakatan Harapan-led state.

"Barisan Nasional voters were fooled (thinking) that Barisan will not work with Pakatan; so please vote for Perikatan Nasional," he said in a Facebook post.

"(Likewise) Pakatan voters who believed that voting for Pakatan means rejecting Barisan are also fooled; so please vote for Perikatan.

"God willing, this time, we will conquer Selangor. We will defeat both Barisan and Pakatan," he added.

In the 15th General Election, Pakatan lost the Hulu Selangor, Kapar and Kuala Langat seats to PAS whilst Umno lost the Tanjong Karang parliamentary seats to Bersatu.

The Sabak Bernam and Sungai Besar seats were retained by Bersatu candidates.

In the 2018 14th General Election, PAS did not win one parliamentary seat whilst Umno won the Sabak Bernam and Tanjong Karang seats.

But this was reduced to just one seat when the then Sabak Bernam MP Mohamad Fasiah Mohd Fakeh jumped to Bersatu. Following this, Bersatu had two parliamentary seats with the other one being Sungai Besar.

For the state seats, PAS only won the Sijangkang seat through Dr Ahmad Yunus whilst Bersatu won six seats and Umno four out of the 56 state seats.

But Umno managed to add one more after it won the Semenyih seat in a by-election after the Bersatu incumbent Bakhtiar Mohd Nor passed away.

The rest of the seats were all held by Pakatan.
