Education Ministry to probe parent's claim of unequal school aid for her kids

KUALA LUMPUR: The Education Ministry will investigate a parent's claim that one of her three children received a lesser amount when early schooling assistance (BAP) – which is supposed to be RM150 – for the 2022/2023 school session was distributed recently.

In a statement, the ministry said it had taken note of a viral video on social media involving a mother of three who claimed to have received different amounts of the aid.

"The ministry will investigate the matter with the relevant parties and get the full details so that firm action can be taken if there is truth to the allegation," the statement read.

The ministry also requested the cooperation of students, parents or guardians to lodge official complaints through its Public Complaints Management System (SISPAA) or to call 03-8884 6456.

All details of the complainant will be kept confidential, the statement read further. – Bernama
