No highway tolls on Jan 20-21 during CNY, says PM

PUTRAJAYA: There will be toll-free travel for highway users on Jan 20 and 21, in conjunction with the Chinese New Year, announces Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

He said the Transport and Works ministers had taken the initiative to discuss with concessioners, who agreed not to impose toll charges for the two days.

This will be for all types of vehicles, with a financial implication of RM40mil.

“We hope that by waiving the toll charges for the two days, it will allow all Malaysians to enjoy travels during the Chinese New Year.

“My advice to road users is to be safe on the road,” he said after chairing the weekly Cabinet meeting.
