Five superbikes crash on Karak Highway, one rider suffers burns

GOMBAK: An accident involving five high-powered motorcycles has occurred on the Karak Highway, with one rider suffering burns after one of the vehicles caught on fire.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director Datuk Norazam Khamis, said that the accident occurred along KM26.4 of the Karak Highway.

"Of the five people affected, one was injured with burns. All five riders had been sent to the hospital before the Fire and Rescue Department reached the scene," he said.

Meanwhile, Gombak OCPD Asst Comm Zainal Mohamed Mohamed said in a statement on Tuesday (Dec 27) that the pile-up was caused by an unknown car that suddenly entered the lane they were on.

"The accident occurred when all were coming from the Genting area. A car of unknown make and registration entered their lane causing one of the riders to lose control of his bike.

"The other four riders crashed after trying to avoid him. All five suffered injuries, including to the head and they have been sent to Selayang Hospital for treatment," he said.
