MetMalaysia: Two days' continuous rain warning in Terengganu, Pahang, Johor, Kelantan


KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a continuous rain warning in Terengganu, Pahang, Johor and Kelantan until Thursday (Dec 22).

MetMalaysia in a statement on Wednesday (Dec 21) said that very heavy continuous rain (severe level) was expected to occur in Terengganu involving the areas of Hulu Terengganu, Marang, Dungun and Kemaman; Kuantan, Pekan and Rompin in Pahang; as well as Kluang, Mersing, Kulai, Kota Tinggi and Johor Bahru in Johor.

Continuous rain (alert level) is expected in Kelantan; Terengganu (Besut, Setiu, Kuala Nerus and Kuala Terengganu); Pahang (Jerantut and Maran) and Johor (Segamat, Batu Pahat and Pontian).

MetMalaysia also forecasts continuous rain over Sarawak involving the areas of Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah, Miri (Subis, Beluru, Miri and Marudi) and Limbang from Dec 23 to 24.

Continuous rain is also predicted in Sabah involving the interior areas (Sipitang, Kuala Penyu and Beaufort), West Coast, Sandakan (Telupid, Kinabatangan, Beluran and Sandakan) and Kudat, as well as Labuan from Dec 23 to 26. – Bernama
