Tourism Malaysia scores award hattrick

JAKARTA: Tourism Malaysia won the National Tourism Organisation of the Year accolade for a third consecutive year at the 13th Indonesia Travel and Tourism Awards (ITTA).

The award, which honours travel agencies, hotels, hospitality investors and foreign tourism boards for their efforts in the growth and development of Indonesian tourism, was presented to Tourism Malaysia Jakarta director Junus Suhid here on Friday night.

Its director-general Datuk Zainuddin Abdul Wahab welcomed the recognition and acknowledged the award as a tribute to its role in tourism promotion via mainstream and social media platforms, and engagement with Indonesian industry players and media.

In a statement, he said the agency would further restore the confidence of industry players to continue promoting Malaysia’s attractions and tourism products, Bernama reported.
