Batang Kali landslide: Collapse involves 450,000 cubic metres of soil

HULU SELANGOR: The landslide at the organic farm at Batang Kali was due to a slope failure involving 450,000 cubic metres of soil.

Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change Minister Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad said the Minerals and Geoscience Department had sent experts to the site to determine the danger zones.

"They will monitor the situation and alert rescuers if there is any more soil movement.

"Our checks revealed the slope failure involved an area of 500m x 200m with a depth of eight metres," he told reporters at the scene.
