PUTRAJAYA: The role of the Finance Ministry's advisers will be determined after consultation with the ministry's senior officers and its new secretary-general, says Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

The Prime Minister said he will also be discussing the matter with former PETRONAS president and CEO Tan Sri Mohd Hassan Marican, who will be leading the team.

"I will have to discuss with Hassan the terms of reference, parameters and priorities of the team of advisors.

"Of course, I will also consult the ministry's senior officers and the new secretary-general," he said at a press conference on Tuesday (Dec 6).

Anwar had earlier clocked in as Finance Minister and held a meeting with senior officials.

However, secretary-general Datuk Seri Asri Hamidin was not present as he is said to be on leave.

When announcing his Cabinet line up last week, the Prime Minister said that Finance Ministry matters would be assisted by several advisers led by Hassan.
