KULIM: Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin (pic) denies any knowledge of any movement attempting to topple the newly formed federal government.
The Perikatan Nasional chairman, who was responding to Arau MP Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim’s claims, said Perikatan accepted the current Federal Government but would remain open to the possibility of taking over Putrajaya in the future.
"I don't know. Ask Shahidan if there is such a plan or not.
"If he is right, then that is good.
"So far as of today, we accept the reality but do not know what will happen in the future.
"Maybe some MPs are against the Cabinet line-up and the current government that they are uncomfortable with," he said during a press conference after a PN campaign rally for the Padang Serai parliamentary election in Taman Selasih on Monday (Dec 5).
On Monday, Shahidan claimed that there were plans to "topple" the government and put Perikatan in power.
He was also quoted as saying Perikatan was working towards "ensuring the Cabinet would not last long".
