Johor MB, Speaker congratulate Anwar on taking office as 10th PM


ISKANDAR PUTERI: Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi (pic) has congratulated Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on his appointment as Malaysia's 10th Prime Minister.

He added that Johor upholds the decree made by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and the Royal Council for solving the national leadership crisis with wisdom following the 15th General Election (GE15) result.

“I hope that the decision can create political stability and be able to ensure economic recovery efforts and ensure the well-being of the people of Malaysia and Johor.

“Congratulations to Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for being appointed as the 10th Prime Minister. I wish you the best of luck,” he added.

The Machap assemblyman said this in his speech during the tabling of the state Budget 2023 at the Johor state assembly in Bangunan Sultan Ismail here in Kota Iskandar on Thursday (Dec 1).

Earlier, Johor state Speaker Datuk Dr Mohd Puad Zakarshi also congratulated Anwar, who is also PKR president and Pakatan Harapan chairman, for being appointed as the new Prime Minister.

He also congratulated former Johor mentri besar and Benut assemblyman Datuk Seri Hasni Mohammad for winning the Simpang Renggam parliament seat in GE15.

Besides Hasni, Mohd Puad congratulated Johor Opposition chief Liew Chin Tong, who is Perling assemblyman, and Simpang Jeram assemblyman Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub for winning the Iskandar Puteri and Pulai parliamentary seats, respectively.
