GE15: Two candidates deny they are reimbursing those travelling home to vote

KUANTAN: Two candidates here are denying that they are reimbursing voters who are returning home to vote for their travel expenses, claims of which are going viral on social media.

Pakatan Harapan's Kuantan candidate Fuziah Salleh said she was sent a poster claiming that she would reimburse returning voters at her house on Friday (Nov 18).

"I vehemently deny this and would like to stress that it is false information.

"This is an act of desperation by my opponents... so they are willing to use dirty tactics to tarnish my credibility," Fuziah said in a statement on Friday (Nov 18).

Likewise, Perikatan Nasional's Indera Mahkota candidate Datuk Seri Saifuddin Abdullah also denied that he was reimbursing returning voters at his office.

"I strongly deny this fake news and will investigate the matter and take appropriate action.

"I ask irresponsible parties to stop spreading false news from invalid sources that can cause confusion and slander among the community," said Saifuddin.
