JOHOR BARU: The young people of Johor should make a wise decision for their future in the 15th General Election (GE15), says Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi.
He said that the decision they made this Saturday (Nov 19) would determine the fate of the state for the next five years.
"I have one clear message for the young people of Johor and that is to help me by choosing a federal government that is in line with the state government.
"This is because we have the vision to turn Johor into a developed state by 2030 and in order to do so, we really need the assistance of the federal government," he said.
Onn Hafiz said this in his speech during the Himpunan Orang Muda Johor program near a mall here in Johor Baru on Thursday (Nov 17) night.
Also present were state youth, sports, entrepreneur development, cooperatives and human resources committee chairman Mohd Hairi Mad Shah, Barisan Nasional candidate for the Johor Baru seat Johan Arifin Mohd Ropi and its candidate for the Pulai seat Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed.
On a separate matter, Onn Hafiz also told the crowd not to believe claims that Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi would be prime minister if Barisan won.
"That is a lie spread by the opposition as they have run out of things to say.
"Barisan has agreed that there is no other prime minister candidate except for Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob. This is what Umno, MIC and MCA have agreed on," he said.
