KOTA KINABALU: Sepanggar incumbent Datuk Mohd Azis Jamman says his Pakatan Harapan opponent should be questioning his assemblyman in the constituency instead of attacking Warisan over water issues.
In his campaign for the 15th General Election (GE15), Pakatan's Mustapha Sakmud reportedly put up posters mocking Mohd Azis for not addressing water woes in the area as its MP.
Azis said Peto Galim, the assemblyman for Inanam which is within the parliamentary seat, was the one who should be queried by his own party colleague.
He also claimed that Galim was rarely seen in the state seat when the people there faced issues.
"It's quite funny that this poster was (put up) by the Pakatan candidate just to get votes from the people in Sepanggar.
"We want to ask where the Pakatan candidates were when the people needed their services... and (instead) he comes up with issues like this," Mohd Azis said here Monday (Nov 14).
"I am aware of the water problem in Sepanggar which has become increasingly critical over the past few days.
"I’d like to repeat the (relevant) minister's answer (to) this issue many times in the Dewan Rakyat that... water issues fall under the responsibility of the state government," Mohd Azis said.
He added that he had been paying for water tankers to bring supply to affected residents in the constituency.
