Construction worker falls to his death in Penampang


KOTA KINABALU: A construction worker fell to his death while working on a building on Jalan Bundusan Penampang here.

The 20-year-old man was working on the 20th floor of the building when he lost his footing and fell at around 10.40am on Thursday (Sept 17).

Penampang OCPD Supt Sammy Newton said they received a call from another worker and sent a team to investigate.

He said the body was later taken to the hospital for a post-mortem examination.

"This case is being classified as sudden death for now," he said.

Supt Sammy also advised the public not to circulate any video of the incident or the scene.

He urged those with information on the case to contact investigating officer Sgt Major Patrick Duffy Francis at 013-838 5335 or the Penampang police station at 088-712 222.
