Ready for disaster rescue missions


GOPENG: Some 12,000 personnel, including police and firefighters, have been trained over the past two months in preparation for the north-east monsoon season, said the National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma).

The agency’s deputy director-general Meor Ismail Meor Akim said those who received training included district police chiefs, firefighters as well as locals in areas that may be affected by the monsoon.
