GE15: Five-way tussle for Seputeh

KUALA LUMPUR: It will be a five-way tussle for the Seputeh parliamentary seat here.

Incumbent Teresa Kok will be facing Barisan Nasional candidate Lee Kah Hing, Perikatan Nasional's Wong Yee Yeng and two Independent candidates, namely Choy San Yeh and Lee Wai Hong in GE15.

Lee, who is Seputeh MCA division secretary as well as Federal Territory MCA complaints bureau chief, said he was eager to hit the campaign trail.

"I am starting tonight, where I will be in Happy Garden to meet traders at the market and business areas," he said.

"This is my first time contesting, but I am not new here as I have been servicing the area for almost 30 years," Lee said.

Wong said he was ready to serve the people and has a plan which involves elevating the quality of life for the people in Seputeh.

Over at the Bukit Bintang parliamentary seat, there will be a three-cornered fight between Pakatan Harapan candidate Fong Kui Lun against Barisan's Tan Teik Peng and Perikatan's Edwin Chen.

Tan said he was grateful for the party's trust in giving him the opportunity to participate in the polls and pledged to do his best.

Both Seputeh and Bukit Bintang are DAP strongholds where Kok and Fong both won a majority of 56,059 and 37,260 votes respectively in the 14th General Election.
