GE15: KJ likely to get Sg Buloh, Tengku Zafrul in Kuala S'gor and Jamal Yunos in Sg Besar

KUALA LUMPUR: Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin will likely contest the Sungai Buloh seat, Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz will be in Kuala Selangor in the upcoming national polls while Datuk Seri Jamal Yunos will contest the Sungai Besar parliamentary seat.

Khairy was seen at a Barisan GE15 candidate announcement event at the Kuala Lumpur World Trade Centre on Tuesday (Nov 1) night.

Khairy was spotted standing near two seats marked 107 and 108, which refers to the parliamentary seats of Sungai Buloh and Shah Alam respectively.

Asked by reporters where he would sit, Khairy merely said "James Bond", or agent "007" as he is known in the popular film franchise.

Khairy was likely referring to Sungai Buloh, which follows speculation he is set to take on the parliamentary seat in Selangor.

Tengku Zafrul was also spotted at the event but refused to divulge any details.

"Wait for the announcement," he said.

Tengku Zafrul's aide later confirmed that he would contest in Kuala Selangor.

When approached by reporters, Jamal said that he would take on the Sungai Besar seat.

There were several names submitted to the Umno leadership for consideration to contest the Sungai Besar seat, among them, former Selangor mentri besar Dr Mohamad Khir Toyo and former Sungai Panjang assemblyman Datuk Dr Budiman Mohd Zohdi.

Barisan chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi is set to announce more candidates at the event later on Tuesday (Nov 1).

Polling day for GE15 is on Nov 19, while nomination day is on Saturday (Nov 5).
