National security guaranteed, says Ismail Sabri following alleged Mossad-led kidnapping

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia's national security is guaranteed and the people need not worry, says Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

The Prime Minister was asked to comment on allegations that Israeli intelligence agents were recruiting Malaysians to conduct operations here.

He said he would comment further after receiving a report from the National Security Council's (NSC) and the police.

"I think the IGP (Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani) has given a statement.

"I will wait until I meet the IGP, NSC director-general and other relevant agencies for a complete report.

"The safety level is guaranteed so the people should not be worried," he said when met at the Hawkers, Traders and Small Entrepreneurs Mega Festival, held at Dataran Merdeka here on Thursday (Oct 20).

A local media outlet had previously reported that police rescued a 31-year-old victim a day after he was kidnapped by a group of Malaysians, believed to have been recruited by Israeli intelligence agency Mossad to hunt down Hamas members in the country.

Links to the agency have yet to be established, with the police warning the public not to make further speculation on the matter.

Last Friday (Oct 14), 11 individuals, including a woman, were charged at the Magistrates' Court here with kidnapping a Palestinian national, Omar ZM Albelbaisy, to obtain information about software used to hack mobile phones.
