45-year-old petty trader charged with Datin's murder


The accused being led into the Seremban Magistrate's Court to be charged with the murder of Datin Noraida Nordin.

SEREMBAN: A 45-year-old man was charged at the Magistrate's Court here on Thursday (Oct 20) with the murder of a Datin on Sept 23.

No plea was recorded from Mohd Faizul Mohamad Ali Kamil after the charge was read to him before Magistrate Mohd Firdaus Saleh.

The accused, a petty trader, allegedly murdered Datin Noraida Nordin in the kitchen of a house in Taman Paroi Jaya near here between 4.30pm and 8pm on Sept 23.

He was charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Hafizah Zainul Hashimi then asked the court for a mention date as the post mortem and chemist reports were not ready.

Firdaus then fixed Dec 20 for mention.

The accused was represented by Sritharan CN and Pravin Paniselvam.

The deceased was found with swelling on her arms and face and some of her belongings, including jewellery, missing.

Police nabbed the accused at Batu 4 Jalan Port Dickson-Teluk Kemang on Oct 8.

They also recovered some jewellery belonging to the victim from the accused.
