Negri cops say Datin's murder solved with arrest of suspect in PD


SEREMBAN: Police believe they have solved the murder of a Datin here following the arrest of a 45-year-old suspect.

Seremban OCPD Asst Comm Nanda Maarof said the male suspect was arrested at around 1pm on Saturday (Oct 8) in Port Dickson.

"The suspect was nabbed at Batu 4 Jalan Port Dickson-Teluk Kemang.

"We also seized jewellery belonging to the deceased from the suspect," he said in a statement Monday (Oct 10).

ACP Nanda said police have obtained an order to remand the suspect until Oct 14.

He thanked the public for providing information which eventually led to the man's arrest.

The case is being probed under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

The deceased, in her 70s, was found with injuries to her body in a house at Jalan Kedidi 7, Taman Paroi Jaya, near here, on Sept 23.

A police team found that some of the victim's belongings were also missing.
