'Datin' in her 70s found dead with injuries to her body, say Negri cops


SEREMBAN: An elderly woman was found dead with injury marks on her body in a house at Jalan Kedidi 7, Taman Paroi Jaya, near here on Friday (Sept 23).

Seremban OCPD Asst Comm Nanda Maarof said the police received a report regarding the discovery of the body of a woman, believed to be in her 70s, at 8.25pm Friday.

"The investigation found that some of the victim's personal belongings were missing and the body was sent to Tuanku Ja'afar Hospital here for post-mortem,” he said in a statement to Bernama here Saturday (Sept 24).

Meanwhile, Malay language news portal Sinar Harian reported that the victim had the title "Datin".

Sinar also visited the premises and found a lot of vehicles outside. Also seen where preacher Ustazah Asma Harun and Puan Sri Bibi Sharliza Mohd Khalid, the wife of former Teluk Kemang Umno chairman Tan Sri Mohd Isa Abdul Samad.

The portal also said it tried to get more information from a man believed to be the victim's grandson, but he declined to comment.

Following the incident, a man known as Mohd Faizul Mohamad Ali Kamil, 45, with his address in Kampung Berkat Chembong, Rembau, Negeri Sembilan, was urged to come forward to assist in the investigation.

Nanda also said that the public can channel information by contacting the investigating officer, Asst Supt Fauzan Azima Razak at 06-603 3222.

"The investigation is ongoing and the public is urged not to speculate on the incident,” he said.
