Man remanded for another week for allegedly murdering Datin


SEREMBAN: A 45-year-old man detained for allegedly murdering a Datin will remain in police custody for another week, say police.

District police chief Asst Comm Nanda Maarof said the police had applied for an order to remand the suspect till Oct 21.

"We have applied to remand the suspect for a further seven days from Saturday (Oct 15) to assist in the probe," he said.

Police nabbed the man around 1pm on Oct 8 along Batu 4, Jalan Port Dickson-Teluk Kemang in Port Dickson.

Also seized from the suspect was jewellery belonging to the deceased.

The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

The deceased, in her 70s, was found with injuries to her body in a house at Jalan Kedidi 7, Taman Paroi Jaya, near here on Sept 23.

A police team found that some of the victim's belongings were also missing.
