KUCHING: Parti Bangsa Malaysia's (PBM) former president Datuk Larry Sng says he accepts the party's decision to appoint Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin as his successor.
This is in contrast to his earlier insistence that he remained president following media reports of Zuraida's appointment at PBM's annual general meeting on Oct 1.

Sng said he was removed as president through a motion passed at the AGM.
"This effectively removed me from office. That is allowed for in the (party) constitution," he told The Star on Saturday (Oct 8).

Sng said he respected the delegates' decision, although he claimed that many of them did not understand the implication of passing that motion.
"Some, including myself, understood it as a power transition, by (changing) the party hierarchy at a time appropriately decided by the supreme council.

"Only after the AGM did I learn that they wanted the transition immediately," he said.
Sng added that he would not challenge the matter and would remain a party man "for the time being".
He also said he had no problems working with Zuraida.
Earlier Saturday, PBM secretary-general Nor Hizwan Ahmad announced that Zuraida was officially appointed as party president.
He said this was decided at PBM's supreme council meeting on Friday (Oct 7), which adopted seven motions unanimously agreed to at the party's AGM.
"Making Zuraida president was among the seven motions adopted and the necessary process was followed on the appointment," he said in a statement.
Sng had said on Oct 2 that due process needed to take place for a proper handover of the president's post.
He had also said that the president's post would only be vacant if the president resigned, was removed or left the party, adding that he had neither resigned nor quit the party.
