Zuraida claims three more MPs joining PBM

JOHOR BARU: Three more MPs are expected to join Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) before the general election, says Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin.

The party president-designate said that PBM is expected to have a total of 14 incumbent MPs and assemblymen before GE15.

"God willing, we will have incumbents contesting in seven Parliamentary seats. Currently, we have four MPs and three more are expected to join the party," she said.

She also said there were five incumbents contesting state seats – three in Perak and two in Selangor.

"We expect two more assemblymen to join us," said Zuraida, who is also Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister, at the PBM Johor headquarters here on Saturday (Sept 10).

Apart from Zuraida who is also Ampang MP, the three other MPs under PBM are Steven Choong (Tebrau), party president Larry Sng (Julau) and former minister Datuk Mohamaddin Ketapi (Lahad Datu).

Meanwhile, its assemblymen are A. Sivasubramaniam (Buntong), Paul Yong Choo Kiong (Tronoh) and Leong Cheok Keng (Malin Nawar) in Perak as well as Haniza Mohamed Talha (Lembah Jaya) and Daroyah Alwi (Sementa) in Selangor.
