Senior citizen found dead with injury marks on her body

SEREMBAN: A senior citizen has been found dead by her son with injury marks on her body at a house in Jalan Kedidi 7, Taman Paroi Jaya, near here.

The son had rushed over to the house after receiving a neighbour’s call.

Seremban OCPD Asst Comm Nanda Maarof said police received a report regarding the discovery of a body of a woman, believed to be in her 70s, at 8.25pm on Friday.

“The investigation revealed that some of the victim’s personal belongings were missing.

“The body has been sent to Hospital Tuanku Ja’afar here for post-mortem,” ACP Nanda said in a statement to Bernama here yesterday.

Malay-language news portal Sinar Harian reported that the victim was a Datin.

It also visited the premises, which had many visitors including preacher Ustazah Asma Harun and Puan Sri Bibi Sharliza Mohd Khalid, the wife of former Teluk Kemang Umno chairman Tan Sri Mohd Isa Abdul Samad.

The victim’s son, who wanted to be known as Asri, 49, said at the time of the incident, his father, 82, who suffers from glaucoma, was in the house but did not hear anything.

Asri said his father had told him that his cousin came to the house to borrow money.

“At the time of the incident, my father felt a bit strange as the house was dark and asked a neighbour’s help to call me at about 6pm.

“I rushed to my parents’ house and found my mother lying on the sofa, unconscious, before being confirmed dead by a medical officer,” he said.

Following the incident, police have urged a man known as Mohd Faizul Mohamad Ali Kamil, 45, with his address listed as Kampung Berkat Chembong, Rembau, Negri Sembilan, to come forward to assist in the investigation.

ACP Nanda also said that anyone with information could contact the investigating officer, Asst Supt Fauzan Azima Razak, at 06-603 3222.
