Armed Forces chief, IGP lead Kedah Sultan’s birthday honours list


ALOR SETAR: Chief of Defence Forces General Tan Sri Malek Razak Sulaiman and Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Mohd Khalid Ismail, head the list of recipients of honours and medals in conjunction with the 84th birthday celebration of the Sultan of Kedah, Al Aminul Karim Sultan Sallehuddin Sultan Badlishah, at Istana Anak Bukit here on Sunday (July 5).

Sultan Sallehuddin consented to the conferment of the Darjah Dato’ Seri Setia Pahlawan Yang Amat Dihormati (S.S.P.K), which carries the title Dato’ Seri Pahlawan on both prominent figures.

For the conferment of the Orang Besar Enam Belas, Datuk Syed Khairol Anuar Syed Abidin was bestowed the title Dato’ Jaya Perkasa, while Datuk Tan Hong Eng received the title Dato’ Jaya Dermawan.

As for the Orang Besar Tiga Puluh Dua, Datuk Mohamad Che Nai was conferred the title Dato’ Johan Bakti, while Datuk Seri Boon Som Inong received the title Dato’ Biram Jaya. Meanwhile, Kedah legislative assembly speaker Zubir Ahmad was conferred the Darjah Dato’ Setia Sultan Sallehuddin Kedah (D.S.S.S), which carries the title Dato’.

Four individuals received the Darjah Dato’ Setia Diraja Kedah (D.S.D.K), which carries the title Dato’. They are Syarikat Air Darul Aman (SADA) chief executive officer (CEO) Radzuan Osman, Alor Setar Mayor Datuk Abdul Gafar Yahya, Malaysian Immigration Department director-general Datuk Zakaria Shaaban, and Fisheries Development Authority of Malaysia (LKIM) director-general Dr Abdul Salim Tajudin.

Kedah police chief Datuk Adzli Abu Shah was conferred the Darjah Dato’ Setia Pahlawan (D.D.S.P), which also carries the title Dato’.

The Darjah Setia Sultan Sallehuddin Kedah (S.S.S) was awarded to two recipients, namely Kedah state executive council member Major (Rtd) Mansor Zakaria and PAS Youth Chief Afnan Hamimi Taib Azamudden.

A total of nine individuals received the Darjah Setia Diraja Kedah (S.D.K), including Kedah State Islamic Religious Affairs Department director Syeikh Mohamad Subhi Abdullah, Langkawi Development Authority (LADA) deputy CEO (Management) Maznim Ismail, Kedah Public Works Department director Ir Mohd Fisal Ismail, and Muda Agricultural Development Authority (MADA) general manager Zulkifli Romli.

Also receiving the S.D.K were Health Ministry Dental Health Programme deputy director Dr Jamaliah Omar, Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital head of Neurosurgery Department Dr Adam Mohd Zakaria, the hospital’s senior consultant general surgeon Dr Manisekar K. Subramaniam, Real Estate and Housing Developers Association (Rehda) Kedah/Perlis chairman Yeoh Su Guan, and Bismi Empire Sdn Bhd president Jaffri Ahmad.

In addition, Sultan Sallehuddin consented to the conferment of the Ahli Mahkota Kedah (A.M.K) to 31 recipients, Ahli Setia Pahlawan (A.S.P) to five recipients, Bintang Perkhidmatan Cemerlang Kedah (B.C.K) to 31 recipients, and Bintang Kebaktian Masyarakat (B.K.M) to 43 recipients.

His Royal Highness also awarded the Ahli Cemerlang Semangat Jerai Kedah (A.S.K) to five recipients, Pingat Perkhidmatan Cemerlang Kedah (P.C.K) to 55 recipients, Pingat Jasa Kebaktian (P.J.K) to 40 recipients, and Pingat Perkhidmatan Lama (P.P.L) to 15 recipients. - Bernama
