Najib’s suit against Tommy Thomas a ‘collateral attack’, lawyer tells court

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s suit against former Attorney General Tan Sri Tommy Thomas for alleged abuse of power in his four ongoing cases related to 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) was a "collateral attack”, the High Court heard.

Counsel Alan Adrian Gomez, representing Thomas, said the lawsuit filed by Najib was an abuse of the court process and cannot be relied on because the four criminal trials are a type of proceedings that can be determined in Najib’s favour.
