Ormond Group sweeps World Travel Awards

The Chow Kit - an Ormond Hotel, was named Malaysia’s Leading Boutique Hotel 2022 for the second year in a row.

PETALING JAYA: Southeast Asian hospitality operator, Ormond Group scoops three prestigious accolades at the World Travel Awards.

Ormond Group presents three unique hotel brands in its portfolio: Ormond Hotels, MoMo’s and Tune Hotels - each providing original concepts for the discerning traveller. Its namesake brand Ormond Hotels, and Tune Hotels, were named best in category, as voted by travel professionals, media, and travellers worldwide.

The Group is pleased to announce that its debut namesake property - The Chow Kit - an Ormond Hotel, was named Malaysia’s Leading Boutique Hotel 2022 for the second year in a row.

Having opened its doors in December 2019, The Chow Kit fast became part of the fabric of downtown Kuala Lumpur, attracting contemporary travellers who appreciate simplified luxury. The hotel design marries crafted tradition with modern comfort, and offers meaningful and authentic experiences for its guests who wish to soak up the culture of this vibrant city.

Back on the leaderboard, the Group’s airport hotel, Tune Hotel KLIA-KLIA2 secured Asia’s Best Airport Hotel 2022, after it had previously bagged the top spot in 2019 and 2020, winning over established international contenders such as South Korea’s Grand Hyatt Incheon, Hong Kong’s SkyCity Marriott Hotel and Philippines’ Savoy Hotel Manila.

Tune Hotel KLIA-KLIA2 was also recognised as Malaysia’s Leading Airport Hotel 2022. Tune Hotels has welcomed loyal guests since its launch in 2006, providing comfortable, value-driven stays that prioritise high quality essentials. This third win for Tune Hotel KLIA-KLIA2 reinforces the group’s belief that airport hotels need not be a boring, functional experience; and has validated its design and service improvements that were completed in 2017.

From Sept 9 - 30, Tune Hotel KLIA-KLIA2 and The Chow Kit - An Ormond Hotel have attractive offers for guests to celebrate the World Travel Awards. Travellers can enjoy room deals up to 20% off upon check-in at Tune Hotel KLIA-KLIA2 as well as great deals over at their six properties across Malaysia, available exclusively on www.tunehotels.com.

Concurrently, The Chow Kit - An Ormond Hotel has launched Dine and Discover, an all-new 3 days 2 nights experience where rates include daily breakfasts, meals at the restaurant and bar plus a walking tour of its famed historical neighbourhood by local guides.

Gareth Lim, CEO of Ormond Group: “We are delighted to see our hotels be recognised at the World Travel Awards.

“We are extremely proud of each and every concept within our portfolio.

“These awards recognise the effort we have put in to change mindsets surrounding hospitality in this region.

“We believe that design and exceptional customer experience are not just reserved for five-star luxury; and will continue to build on this across all our brands.”

Celebrating its 29th anniversary, the World Travel Awards is globally recognised as the most prestigious honours programme in travel and tourism. Voted for by travel professionals, media and consumers worldwide, this honour recognises an organisation as the very best of the best.
