PETALING JAYA: A couple has been arrested after leading police on a high speed pursuit along the Damansara-Puchong Expressway (LDP).

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid said the incident occurred at around 4pm on Tuesday (Aug 30).

"A police task force was conducting crime prevention patrols when they spotted a couple behaving suspiciously in a Proton Waja near a hotel at Persiaran Surian here.

"When police approached the vehicle, they sped off heading towards the LDP. Police chased the suspects until the U-turn near Bandar Utama when the suspect rammed into several other vehicles," he said in a statement on Thursday (Sept 1).

He said the male suspect then tried to get out of the vehicle to flee the scene but was apprehended by police.

"Checks in the vehicle revealed a packet containing 1.3g of a substance, believed to be syabu worth RM130.

"A urine test revealed both suspects tested positive for methamphetamine," he said, adding that the two suspects aged 41 and 38 have been remanded for four days to help with further investigations.

ACP Mohamad Fakhrudin urged those with information on drug related crime to come forward immediately.

Those with information can contact the Selangor police hotline at 03-2052 9999.
