Statements from court officers taken over leaked ‘judgment’

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have recorded the statements of several individuals, including court officers, in connection with the alleged leaked judgment documents on the verdict of Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor’s corruption case.

“We are not ruling out the possibility of calling more individuals to record their statements,” Sentul OCPD Asst Comm Beh Eng Lai said when contacted yesterday.

“The document is a research document regarding a case that is still under trial and it is the view of the research unit as a reference for the judge. According to the complainant, the document will be amended based on the research and is not the decision of the court,” he added.

This follows a report by blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin that was published on Aug 26 titled “Rosmah Mansor will be pronounced guilty on Sept 1 2022”.

“This media report claimed that the decision by the court to find Rosmah Mansor guilty has already been made,” said ACP Beh.

“However, the complainant said that the document was not the judgment,” he added.

The High Court has fixed Sept 1 for delivering its judgment on Rosmah’s corruption case involving a RM1.25bil hybrid solar project for 369 rural schools in Sarawak.
