Best if Perikatan uses a single logo, says Muhyiddin

SERDANG; It is best if Perikatan Nasional component parties use the same logo during the 15th General Election (GE15), says Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

Responding to calls by a Terengganu PAS delegate during the Perikatan convention to allow PAS to contest under its own green-and-white flag in Terengganu, the Perikatan chairman said they would take this into consideration.

"I still feel it is best we use one logo just as we did in the Johor, Sabah and Melaka state elections," he said at a press conference after the Perikatan convention on Saturday (Aug 27).

He added that it was also improbable that people would not recognise the Perikatan logo as it was the only one with words while others use symbols.

"We also introduced our logo two weeks before the Sabah state election and we still won," he said.

During the convention, Terengganu Perikatan election director Ariffin Deraman called for the coalition's leadership to allow PAS to contest with its own logo for GE15.

He said this was not because they rejected Perikatan but noted how politics differed at the national level and on the east coast.

Separately, Muhyiddin said that Perikatan would be using its existing logo for GE15 as agreed on by the coalition leadership.

"We will be using the same logo. However, we will consider using a new logo after GE15," he said
