Two boys found drowned in Sungai Triang


KUANTAN: The bodies of two friends who went missing after being swept away by strong currents in Sungai Triang near Bera's Kerayong chicken market on Tuesday (Aug 16) have been found.

Pahang Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Ismail Abdul Ghani said the body of Muhammad Nik Iqmal Shah Ismail, 15, was found at 10.30pm on Wednesday (Aug 17), about 400m from where he went missing.

He added that the body of Muhammad Danial Irsyad Norazlan, 11, was found by members of the public at 1.30am on Thursday (Aug 18), also about 400m from where he was last seen.

The bodies were handed over to the police for further action.

The victims were swimming in the river with several other friends when the current swept them away at about 3.30pm on Tuesday. – Bernama
